You Said I Was Your Favorite

You Said I Was Your Favourite is a poignant exploration of love, longing, and the challenges of connection. Set against the backdrop of a seemingly mundane school life, the story follows Daisy Albright, a girl who prefers to remain unnoticed by her peers. She finds solace in her quiet existence until a classmate from a very different crowd is sent to work alongside her in the headmaster's office every day.

The Plot

As Daisy goes about her daily routine, she becomes the object of his fascination. He is captivated by her beauty and charm, qualities that have gone largely unrecognised by those around her. Their time spent together ignites a spark, leading him to believe that their feelings might be mutual. However, as their bond deepens, they are met with resistance from friends, family, and, most notably, Daisy's father.

The narrative deftly navigates the complexities of young love, the weight of societal expectations, and the courage it takes to pursue one’s heart despite the odds. With a writing style that is both lyrical and relatable, Monica Murphy captures the essence of adolescent emotions and the bittersweet nature of first love.
