The Eldest Curses Collection - Ages 14+

The Eldest Curses Collection brings together two captivating tales that delve into the lives of Magnus Bane and Alec Lightwood, beloved characters from Cassandra Clare's Shadowhunter universe. Set against a backdrop of magical intrigue and personal growth, these stories explore the delicate balance between love and duty.

The Plot

As warlocks and Shadowhunters navigate their complex relationships, Magnus and Alec face a myriad of challenges that test their bonds. In The Red Scrolls of Magic, Magnus's lavish European holiday with Alec has barely begun in Paris when an old friend brings news of the Crimson Hand, a demon-worshipping cult bent on chaos that Magnus apparently founded years ago as a joke, and the pair must race across Europe to track down its elusive new leader. The Lost Book of the White continues the Eldest Curses series, and each narrative weaves a rich tapestry of emotion, humour, and adventure.

• Explore how a joke from Magnus's past comes back to haunt him and Alec.
• Watch Magnus and Alec learn to trust each other more than ever, even if it means revealing the secrets they have both been keeping.

Through an engaging blend of fantasy and contemporary themes, Clare and Chu examine love in various forms, friendship, and the sacrifices made in the name of duty.

Themes

The collection touches on themes of acceptance, the complexities of love, and the importance of family—chosen or otherwise. Readers will find themselves immersed in a world where the lines between right and wrong blur, and where every decision carries weight and consequence.
