Flavia de Luce Series 5 Books Collection

Step into the world of Flavia de Luce, a precocious young sleuth, with this collection of Alan Bradley's historical Flavia de Luce mysteries. The set includes The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie, The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag and A Red Herring Without Mustard.

The Plot

Eleven-year-old Flavia navigates the sleepy yet mysterious village of Bishop's Lacey, where her powers of deduction are put to the test. In The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag, a travelling puppet show comes to the village and a shocking murder follows, one that echoes a tragedy from many years before. In A Red Herring Without Mustard, a fortune-teller claims to see a vision of Flavia's late mother, and when a corpse is found in the grounds of Buckshaw, the de Luce family seat, the mystery comes disturbingly close to home. With each book, readers are drawn deeper into Flavia's world.

Writing Style

The narrative is characterised by its rich, descriptive prose and clever dialogue, and each Flavia de Luce mystery can be read as a standalone or in series order.

This collection is a treasure for those who enjoy immersing themselves in a world of mystery and intrigue, and for fans of M. C. Beaton's Agatha Raisin, Frances Brody and Alexander McCall Smith.
