Description
Two Terrible Vikings Feast with the King is an engaging tale that follows the misadventures of Hack and Whack, two less-than-stellar Vikings who unexpectedly find themselves entrusted with the care of a toddler named Fire Hazard. This light-hearted story cleverly explores themes of responsibility and personal growth, as Hack and Whack discover that they might not be the worst Vikings in their village after all.
The Plot
When Hack and Whack receive a coveted invitation to a royal feast with the king, they must navigate the challenge of behaving themselves for three whole days. However, their plans take a chaotic turn when they encounter the teenage king, who turns out to be a lout and loves the food fights that ensue. The arrival of snooty winter guests only adds to the mayhem, testing the patience and ingenuity of our unlikely heroes.
Themes and Style
This whimsical narrative is filled with humour and adventure, appealing to both children and adults alike. Francesca Simon's charming writing style and Steve May's anarchic illustrations bring the characters to life, making it easy for readers to connect with Hack and Whack’s hilarious escapades. The book’s blend of comedy and chaos highlights the importance of friendship and teamwork in overcoming obstacles.
