Description
In the Light That Blinds Us series, readers are introduced to the complex world of Alexis Michaels, a teenager whose childhood was haunted by disturbing hallucinations of the Shadow Man. This collection brings together two books by Andy Darcy Theo: The Light That Blinds Us and The Dark That Hides Us.
The Plot
In The Light That Blinds Us, the visions have stopped and Alexis longs for a normal life, until a trip to Stonehenge brings him together with three other teens who carry gems like his blue amulet. Plunged into a hidden world of power-wielding Elementals, they are told they are the chosen ones who must save the world from an eternal night, and as their perilous quest unfolds, a dark past and a looming secret threaten Alexis's mind. The narrative delves deep into themes of mental health, resilience, and the power of friendship.
The set is completed by The Dark That Hides Us.
Themes
- Exploration of mental health challenges
- The importance of friendship and support
- Coming-of-age in the face of adversity
The series is a compelling choice for fans of young adult fantasy romance, and The Light That Blinds Us is pitched at readers of Leigh Bardugo and Cassandra Clare, authors who also explore the intricate tapestry of adolescence and emotional growth.
