Description
Delve into the captivating realms of villainy with the Assistant to the Villain Series Collection, a two-book set by Hannah Nicole Maehrer that includes both Assistant to the Villain and Apprentice to the Villain.
The Plot
In Apprentice to the Villain, Evie Sage has never been happier as assistant to The Villain, but the kingdom of Rennedawn is in grave trouble: something peculiar is happening with its magic, leaving The Villain's manor open to their enemies, including the king. To protect the lair, and perhaps the whole kingdom, Evie must step out of her comfort zone and learn new skills such as treason and dagger work. But what happens when the assistant to The Villain is ready to become his apprentice?
Themes
- Loyalty: In Apprentice to the Villain, Evie sets out to protect The Villain's lair, all of his nefarious works and perhaps the entire kingdom.
- Workplace Comedy: The business of being bad is demanding, the forces of good are annoyingly persistent, and Evie's forbidding boss is somewhat out of the evil office.
Writing Style
Hannah Nicole Maehrer adeptly blends wit with darkness, crafting dialogues that are both sharp and insightful. The narrative flows seamlessly, immersing readers in a richly developed world.
“An engaging love story about finding strength in vulnerability.” – Kirkus Reviews, on Apprentice to the Villain
This collection will appeal to fans of romantic fantasy, offering a fresh take on the classic trope of the villain's assistant.
