Description
Isabel Dalhousie becomes a member of the advisory committee for the Scottish National Portrait Gallery. She becomes involved in a family dispute between David, who supports Scottish nationalism, and his sister Catriona, who holds socialist views. Their differing beliefs threaten to disrupt family harmony. When their mother, Laura, seeks Isabel's help to mediate, she steps in to find a resolution. Meanwhile, Isabel's partner Jamie faces his own challenges as he questions the motives behind hiring new musicians for his ensemble.
