Encore in Death: An Eve Dallas thriller (In Death 56)

The Plot

In Encore in Death, the fifty-sixth novel in the In Death series, celebrated actor Brant Fitzhugh is poisoned with cyanide during a glamorous toast at a high-profile party. The party, which he hosted with his wife, Eliza Lane, quickly transforms from a celebration into a chilling investigation led by Lieutenant Eve Dallas. As Eve delves into the murky depths of fame and ambition, she uncovers a labyrinth of jealousy and rivalry surrounding Eliza.

Though Brant was well liked, Eliza has many rivals, a few of whom could be called enemies. The cocktail intended for Eliza raises immediate questions about who the true target was. As the investigation unfolds, Eve must navigate through the glittering yet treacherous world of celebrity, where secrets are currency and betrayal lurks behind every smile.
