The Tulip Tearooms

The Tulip Tearooms by Pamela Evans is a poignant tale set against the backdrop of post-Second World War London, where love and familial loyalty are intricately entwined.

The Plot

Lola Brown and Harry Riggs experience an enchanting connection at a dance, igniting a romance that seems destined to flourish. However, their relationship faces significant obstacles due to Lola's father's criminal activities, which create tension as Harry serves as a dedicated policeman. In an effort to shield her family from potential repercussions, Lola makes the heart-wrenching decision to distance herself from Harry.

As Harry attempts to move on, Lola becomes entwined with the eccentric Pickford sisters, taking on the challenge of revitalising their struggling tearooms. This new venture not only helps her escape her troubles but also leads her to discover her own strength and resilience. Despite the physical distance, the emotional bond between Lola and Harry remains palpable, leading to moments of reflection and longing.
