Last Templar the Vol. 1: the Encoder

Last Templar the Vol. 1: the Encoder by Raymond Khoury masterfully weaves a tale that bridges the ancient and the modern, from the last days of Crusader Acre in 1291 to a raid on a New York museum.

The Plot

Set against the backdrop of Acre in 1291, the narrative begins with the last Crusader city on the brink of collapse. Two valiant Knights Templar, obeying their grandmaster's orders, escape the invading Muslim army aboard the order's last ship.

Fast forward to contemporary New York City, where a Vatican treasures exhibition attracts attention. Amidst the grandeur, four men disguised as Templars launch a brazen attack on the Metropolitan Museum, stealing invaluable artefacts, including a crucial decoder that sends shockwaves through the Church. As the story unfolds, the past and present collide.

Themes and Writing Style

Khoury's writing style is characterised by its pace and vivid imagery, drawing readers into both the historical context and the high-stakes modern drama. The two intertwining timelines, medieval Acre and present-day New York, give the story its scope.

• Historical intrigue
• Modern-day adventure
• Crusader-era history

Fans of historical thrillers will find Khoury's blend of rich historical detail and gripping suspense captivating.
