Full terms: trade pilot terms.
What does 50% off RRP mean?
You pay the lower of 50% off RRP and our own shop price, on every title. Academic and educational titles that publishers supply to the trade on short discount are the lower of 20% off RRP and our shop price: these are mostly university-press, academic, professional and scientific books, and school, exam and English-language-teaching books such as textbooks, revision guides and GCSE and A level titles. Box sets, bundles and titles without an RRP are at our shop price. Where your price is 50% or 20% off RRP, we round it down to the penny. Signed in, you see your trade price on every title, with its % off RRP wherever we have the RRP.
If a price ever looks wrong, email us and we'll put it right before you order.
Which titles are academic or educational?
Academic and educational titles that publishers supply to the trade on short discount are the lower of 20% off RRP and our shop price: these are mostly university-press, academic, professional and scientific books, and school, exam and English-language-teaching books such as textbooks, revision guides and GCSE and A level titles. Every other title is the lower of 50% off RRP and our shop price, except box sets, bundles and titles without an RRP, which are at our shop price. Signed in, you see your trade price on every title, with its % off RRP wherever we have the RRP.
Which titles can I order?
Our whole range. Titles we hold in our UK warehouse arrive the next working day if you order by 1pm; everything else that's available is delivered in 2–3 working days. Delivery is free on every trade order during our pilot.
Is there a minimum order?
No. There's no minimum order, so you can order a single copy if that's all you need. There's no exclusivity either: keep your other suppliers.
Can I order by email?
Yes. Email support@foxandfable.com with the ISBNs and quantities you'd like. We'll reply to confirm which titles ship next day, and place the order on your trade account at your trade prices.
How do I pay?
By default, we invoice orders on your trade account on 30-day terms (Net 30): payment is due 30 days after the date of the order. We keep a debit card on file for your account and charge it automatically on the due date. We do not accept credit cards on 30-day terms.
If you would rather pay by bank transfer, please email support@foxandfable.com for our bank details and quote your invoice number, which begins INV-, as the payment reference.
Alternatively, you may pay for any order by card at checkout.
What about returns?
Returns are free on every trade order placed during our pilot. This includes academic and educational titles and titles we do not hold in our UK warehouse.
To return books, please email support@foxandfable.com with the invoice or order number and the ISBNs and quantities, and we will add them to your return list. You may add books to your return list at any time. We collect returns together once a month, so please keep the books to one side until we collect them and group them into as few parcels as possible. We refund or credit returns once the books have reached us and been checked.
If you paid by card, we refund your card. If the order is on 30-day terms and the invoice is not yet paid, we reduce the invoice by the value of the returned books. Otherwise, we add the amount to your trade account as credit towards your next order.
How long does the pilot run?
The pilot has no fixed end date. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before it ends or before any of our trade terms change, and orders keep the terms they were placed on.
Can I order through BatchLine?
Not yet. For now, order here on our site: once your trade account is approved, quick order by ISBN lets you paste a whole list at once.
Who can apply?
Independent bookshops, other UK retailers such as gift, museum and toy shops, and institutions such as schools and libraries.
