The Plot

In this intense narrative, Zach Bridger is shocked to discover that his ex-wife, Rebecca, whom he has not seen since their divorce, is on life support following an assault. Despite their estranged relationship, he is still her Power of Attorney, a responsibility that weighs so heavily on him that he leaves her care in the hands of her parents. Years later the situation becomes even more complicated when Rebecca's attacker is released from prison, igniting a fierce determination in state prosecutor Kate to seek justice for Rebecca.

Kate's ambitious legal strategy puts Zach in another agonising position over Rebecca's care, and as he wrestles with a decision no one should have to make, the attraction between him and Kate becomes impossible to resist. Yet Rebecca's attacker has no intention of going back to prison, and he is plotting to stop them both at any cost. With the stakes escalating, the narrative pits conscience against ambition.
