Night Shadows

Night Shadows plunges readers into the heart of a small Icelandic community, Akranes, where the tranquility is shattered by a devastating house fire that claims the life of a young man. Detective Elma of the West Iceland CID is called to the scene, her instincts igniting a relentless pursuit for the truth. As she and her team delve into the investigation, the spectre of arson looms large, and the stakes escalate.

The Plot

As Elma and her colleagues are drawn into an increasingly perplexing case with multiple suspects, the dead man’s final online search raises fears that they may be investigating two murders rather than one. Months before the fire, a young Dutch woman, desperate for a fresh start after her father’s death, takes a job as an au pair in Iceland, but the seemingly perfect family who employs her has problems of its own. Elma, still coming to terms with a life-changing event, is soon in mortal danger, as it becomes clear that someone will go to any lengths to keep their secrets hidden.
